Digman Halo-Halo

January 12, 2013

At the heart of Bacoor City at Cavite, you can find one of the most talked about all-time favorite signature Halo-Halo. Being near Metro Manila as it is bordered by Las PiƱas city of the National Capital Region, it is one of things you need to go to if you are on your way for a weekend food trip.

The Original Digman Halo-Halo as what is known for is located at Barangay Digman, Bacoor City, Cavite and is just a few meters away from Bacoor City Hall.

For foreigners, Halo-Halo is a dessert made up of ice, milk, various beans, and leche-flan.

When you are already inside Digman, there are two competing Digman Halo-Halo stalls. The first is the Original Digman Halo-Halo and the other one is the BC2 Original Digman Halo-Halo. Both stores compete for originality. Personally, I have tried them both and there is no difference. They only differ with other menu available. The Original Digman Halo-Halo  is famous also with its home-made siopao while BC2 Digman Halo-Halo is famous with its great tasting Pancit Palabok.

The Siopao is a bit smaller than jumbo-sized siopao sold at famous convenience stores but don't be fooled. The asado inside is twice as many.

I suggest to try them both as in my own opinion, they are head-to-head in terms of taste.

Both stores sell their special halo-halo at P55.00 at the time of this writing.
Home-made Siopao is P22.00.

The verdict, the halo-halo is no different from other Halo-Halo stores except for the fact that they have been selling their Halo-Halo for more than 50 years already and is passed on from their grandfather to the present generation.
