Tinuy-an falls is the widest, multi-level waterfall in the Philippines located deep toward the rainforest of Bislig at Barangay Burboanan, Surigao del Sur of Mindanao. It features a ravaging yet magnificent clear waterfalls emanating from the rainforest that separates Surigao del Sur and Agusan del Sur. It supplies water to Bislig river and flows towards the Philippine Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

Bolinao Falls - an unexpected waterfall along the plains of Pangasinan

Bolinao, a town at the tip of Luzon's western peninsula is primarily a flat land lying below the plains just by the  hills of Bani, Pangasinan. The Ditumabo Falls is about fifty meters high and falls on a 30 meter wide basin which provides a natural cold swimming pool. This falls is the best way to refresh yourselves on a hot summer day in Baler after you already had an overdose of salt water when surfing along the shores of Sabang Beach.

Amadeo, Cavite. What more can this town offer aside from a fresh smell of coffee while driving along Crisanto M. Delos Reyes Avenue? A waterfall.

Ready for a mapping expedition for the northeastern tip of the Philippines, a Tuesday afternoon, we headed on to Sampaloc, Manila to get a bus bound to Sta. Ana, Cagayan... the northeastern tip of the island of Luzon. It is the gateway to Palaui Island, a protected natural reserve and to Calayan Group of Islands, the islands scattered at Balintang Channel where the Pacific Ocean meets the warm waters of the West Philippine Sea. A 15-hour bus ride and a 654-kilometer road trip.

Right near Camiguin's capital town of Mambajao, a magnificent waterfalls flowing from Mt. Campana attracts local and foreign tourists.
Situated at 265 meters above sea level and flowing all the way up from Campana's peak at 500 MASL. One of the testaments that this island is blessed with natural wonders. This can be used as a picnic area or you may stop by for a swim through its clean and cool water.

Another long weekend. It was 24 years ago since I last climbed a mountain. I was 8 years old back then. Having this scar on my lower left leg reminds me of my first ever climb in Mt. Banahaw and since then, my instinct has been telling me to get back to who really I am... to unite with nature and feel the grandeur of setting foot to elevations not meant for a regular man to take foot often and enjoy the peace and fresh air at this altitude. It is the right time to re-unite with the mountains and conquer Mt. Pico De Loro.

It is a very long drive and I am prepared for it. Covering 600 kilometers of road from my home to Pagudpud, I am excited to travel for the first time to my never been explored northern Philippines. With only having an hour of sleep, we woke up at 2:00AM and started to head on to the road at 3:00AM. It is going to be a hell of a road trip!
